Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026 | habits.build-mythos.com
Habit Tracker ("the app") is a personal productivity web application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: When you sign in with Google or email, we collect your name and email address for authentication purposes only.
- Habit data: Habits you create, logs, and settings are stored locally in your browser and optionally backed up to your personal Google Drive.
- Google Calendar data: If you connect Google Calendar, the app reads your calendar events in read-only mode to display them alongside your habits. We do not store, modify, or share your calendar data.
- Google Drive data: If you use Drive backup, your habit data is saved to a private app-specific folder (
appDataFolder) on your own Google Drive that only this app can access. No other app or person can see this data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and associate your data with your account.
- To display your Google Calendar events within the app (read-only).
- To back up and restore your habit data via your personal Google Drive.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties.
3. Google API Services
Habit Tracker uses Google API Services. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- calendar.readonly: Used only to display your calendar events in the app. Data is never stored on our servers.
- drive.appdata: Used only to save and restore your personal habit backup in your own Drive. Only you can access this data.
4. Data Storage
Your habit data is stored locally in your browser (AsyncStorage / localStorage). If you choose to back up to Google Drive, data is stored in your private appDataFolder on your own Google account. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by:
- Clearing your browser storage.
- Deleting the backup file from your Google Drive (
habit-tracker-backup.json in App Data).
- Revoking app access from your Google Account permissions page.
6. Security
All communication with Google APIs is performed over HTTPS. OAuth tokens are stored in your browser's session storage and are never sent to any external server.
7. Children's Privacy
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
